Wait, I Have to Get a Poke?
Helping a Child You Know Understand a Trach.
This book is for children and caregivers to learn together about different medical pokes a kid might experience in a medical environment. When a kid knows what to expect, new or scary experiences can feel a little more manageable. If a child is going to receive a poke, preparing them for what will happen can give them the opportunity to participate in their care, build coping skills, and recognize when an experience is finished and it is time to return to a calm, safe state.
